Growing up as a Texas Native, there wasn’t a year that went by during my elementary education that a teacher or librarian didn’t retell us the story of the Alamo.

As much as this beloved story was retold several times, I probably won’t be the only one to tell you that visiting the Alamo in person doesn’t live up to the hype.
